this race now has a athlete cap - don't get sold out!

Don’t miss out on this amazing race. Great for new and experienced triathletes — Tri-Carson — now in it’s 5th year is the end of season race not to be missed.  Nice scenic flat run, blazing fast bike course and refreshing safe pool swim — finish it off with a huge beach towel at the finish line festival, good food, great music, friends and an awesome finisher medal — it is a perfect race.

now in it's second year!

limited to 50 athletes

Not for the faint of heart — this race is a true test of strength and endurance — it is what happens when a CrossFit Box (CF5150) and a Tri-Club (LB Tri Club) get together and have a few beers and think up a crazy plan for a sprint triathlon that has three outrageous strength and conditioning workouts between each triathlon element.   The WODs are TBA but be assured they will challenge the strongest athlete and put you to the test.

With the strength of the CSUDH Toro — this 5k is one of the most scenic and fun 5Ks around.  Combined with the excitement of being on the same course as a triathlon and the race is a great part of the CSUDH.  A great first time 5k or a time to PR on this mostly flat course on the campus of CSUDH.  And check out the awesome hardware you get at the finish line festival — each participant gets a finisher medal.

All athletes need to be at the start line and ready to go at 8am.

10:00am Awards

Schedule is subject to slight change based on race day conditions and other factors.

*Important Notes

Same Day Registration/Packet Pick-up.

Note that it is not a mistake that transition opens 30 minutes prior to same day packet pickup and same day registration. It is in your best interest to pre-register and pickup your packet before race day so you can get into transition when it opens. No one will be allowed in transition without a transition wristband.

What is a “Soft” bike cut off? We want everyone to finish this race, at the same time we have to open up the streets to the public. We have developed the “soft” bike cut off which means that where ever you are on the bike course at 10am, we will have you finish that loop and then continue to the pool and finish the race.

You’ll finish!

Drive-Thru packet pick up! (Yep, you read that right!)

Now in it’s third successful year: The worlds only (that we know of anyway) Drive-Thru Packet Pick up.

Saturday, Nov 1st from 11am to 4pm

(Valuable and usually entertaining course talks at 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm, 4pm)

Location: CSUDH Campus in Carson.

(Probably one of the lower parking lots.  We will update this with details when we have the final lot number.)

How does it work?

Just like you might think — you drive through each station;

1. Verify Bib Number (bring ID and email registration confirmation (just in case, and on your phone is fine.)

2. Sign Waiver

3. Pick-up Packet

4. Pick up Schwag bag.

And you done and on your way.

Of course we have parking available if you want to stop and chat, or attend a course talk (one at 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm and 4pm)

And we will also have same day registration (assuming there are still spots available.  If the race is sold out we will say so right here.  And that will be sad for you — don’t wait — we do have a athlete cap on all three races!)

Can’t pick up your own packet?  Yes you can have someone else pick it up for you.  Click here for details.

  • Online registration closes at 5pm, PST on Thursday 10/30/14
  • If the race is not sold out (see below) there is registration available at packet pickup on Saturday, 11/1/14 from 11am to 4pm.  (No discount codes will be accepted at packet pick-up registration.
